DISMANTLING RACISM TRAINING

The Dismantling Racism training is designed to foster greater racial understanding, promote healing, and encourage reconciliation within the church and the wider community. This transformative program is offered multiple times throughout the year to ensure broad participation. It is mandatory for all parish clergy, as well as for lay leaders, including members of the vestry. By engaging in this training, participants are equipped with the knowledge and tools necessary to address the impact of racism, both within the church and in the larger society.

 

Each session is led by highly experienced facilitators who possess an extensive background in and deep understanding of the complexities of racial healing. They bring a wealth of knowledge, sensitivity, and insight to the process, ensuring that each participant’s journey toward healing is guided with care, respect, and a profound commitment to fostering meaningful, lasting change.

General Information: 

• The Dismantling Racism Training is held online via Zoom from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. EDT.

• There are two 10 minute breaks during the class and a 30 minute lunch break.

• Each class is limited to 20 people. No more than six people from the same parish/organization can take the class on the same day.

• There is no fee for those that are parish members or staff with the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta.

• There is a $50.00 fee for those outside of or not affiliated with the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta.

Computer/Mobile Device requirements: 

• You will need access to video and audio capabilities on your computer or mobile device. Please check these capabilities are functioning before the day of your class.

• If  more than two people are taking the class on the same day in the same home or building, each person must use a separate device and be in a different room. No exceptions will be made.

​​To sign up for a class: 

• Class registration is based on first-come, first-served. 

• Please select your class date and register below.

• The class date you select may be full even if it appears open. You will be notified if it is full.

• If less than 10 people sign up for a class, it will be canceled. Participants will be notified to select another date.
